Training Options for Accent Modification/Accent Reduction

Pediatric & Adult Therapy Associates offers Individual, Small and Large Group Training Programs.

Individual Training

Customized session packages begin with a Comprehensive Evaluation followed by training typically 10-15 sessions in length (depending on the specific needs and goals of the individual). Individual sessions are approximately 1 hour in length, with particular focus on improving the production of specific speech sounds, learning and practicing American English intonation patterns, and becoming aware of cultural norms for vocal intensity. Additionally, idiomatic expressions and vocabulary relevant to the individual’s work environment are addressed.

Individual Training is ideal for those who prefer the individualized attention of one-to-one instruction. There is more flexibility with a private program than with our group programs.

Small Group Training

Small Group Training provides an alternative to individual sessions that allows participants to learn from one another. Group training is often a more cost effective means of accent modification training. Sessions are typically 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Group sizes typically range from 3 to 5 individuals, with training content based on group members’ collective and individual needs. Like individual training, customized small group session packages begin with a Comprehensive Evaluation for each participant. Training packages are typically comprised of 10-15 sessions, depending on the specific needs and goals of group members.

Large Group Training

Pediatric & Adult Therapy Associates also provides training for larger groups, which tend to focus on more generalized participant needs. Session length will vary according to the nature of the training and the number of participants.
